Why We Created It

A Miner’s Survival Guide began as a self-initiated experiment at a time when generative AI tools were still in their early stages. The goal was simple: explore what AI could contribute to eLearning production and learn where it could fit within a real development workflow.

The Learning Experience

The learner prepares to enter an abandoned mine by making a series of safety-related decisions. Each choice provides immediate feedback before the learner moves deeper into the experience.

After completing the scenario, the learner enters a dark mine and uses a movable flashlight to uncover hidden objects and discover interesting facts about mining.

How AI Was Used

AI supported the creation of the project’s raw content and media. It was used to write the initial text and generate the images, videos, sound effects, and music used throughout the experience.

Generative AI has advanced significantly since this project was created, but the sample remains a useful snapshot of what was possible during its earlier development.

Human Design and Development

AI generated the individual assets, but it did not create the finished learning experience.

The concept, learner journey, question structure, feedback, visual direction, interaction logic, and Articulate Storyline development were completed manually. The AI-generated elements were selected, refined, combined, and transformed into one consistent and immersive experience.

The final result brings together branching decisions, multimedia, animation, sound design, and a custom flashlight interaction.

What We Learned

The project demonstrated that AI could speed up ideation and media creation, but strong results still depended on human direction, curation, and technical development.

Individual AI-generated assets were only the starting point. The real value came from connecting them through a clear experience, purposeful interactions, and consistent visual and audio design.
